Welcome to Seattle Seattle Debre Amin St. Tekle Haymanot Orthodox Tewahedo Church

Sacramental & Pastoral Services

The Holy Mysteries are at the heart of the spiritual life of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. Instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ, they are sacred means through which God's invisible grace is bestowed upon the faithful for salvation, sanctification, and eternal life. Rooted in the apostolic faith and sacred traditions of the Church, sacramental and pastoral services nurture the faithful through worship, prayer, spiritual guidance, and compassionate care, strengthening their communion with Christ and one another.

Our Church Services

  • Divine Liturgy

Every Sunday from 3:00 AM - 11:00 AM

The Divine Liturgy (Holy Qidase) is the heart of worship at Debre Amin Abune Tekle Haymanot Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. Rooted in the ancient apostolic tradition, it brings the faithful together in prayer, praise, thanksgiving, and participation in the Holy Eucharist—the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Divine Liturgy is celebrated every Sunday and on the monthly feast day of our patron saint, Abune Tekle Haymanot. Through sacred hymns, Scripture readings, prayers, and the Holy Mysteries, the faithful are called to deepen their communion with God and grow in spiritual unity.

  • Sunday School

The Sunday School Ministry at Debre Amin Abune Tekle Haymanot Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church is dedicated to nurturing Orthodox Christian faith, spiritual growth, and a lifelong commitment to Christ among children, youth, and young adults.

Rooted in Holy Scripture, the teachings of the Church Fathers, and the rich traditions of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, the ministry provides biblical education, Orthodox doctrine, spiritual hymns, liturgical instruction, and opportunities for fellowship and service.

Recognizing the diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds of our community, the ministry strives to make Orthodox Christian education accessible to both Amharic- and English-speaking generations, helping them grow together in faith while preserving their spiritual heritage.

  • Prayer Sessions

    Friday Prayer Service

Join us every Friday at the church for communal prayer and spiritual reflection, strengthening our faith, seeking God's guidance, and growing together in Christ.

    Wednesday Prayer Service

Our Wednesday Prayer Service brings the faithful together by phone for prayer and spiritual fellowship, helping members stay connected in faith throughout the week.
